Program Overview

The LSAMP Program exists in Central Florida to respond to an urgent need to recruit and retain members of diverse racial and ethnic groups along science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) pathways at two-year colleges. At Pasco Hernando State College and across the Central Florida STEM Alliance, the LSAMP program includes STEM students who participate as members, interns, scholars, and mentors. An enrolled LSAMP student must meet the participation requirements as a general member to be eligible to apply as a community intern or a research scholar. An intern or scholar must complete all requirements of that experience to be eligible to apply as a peer mentor. Students will be eligible to participate in funded activities (for individuals and for groups) only if they remain in good standing with the LSAMP Program each semester they are enrolled.
