Become a Student Government Officer
Elections for president, vice-president, secretary and treasurer are held during the spring semester. Selections for senator are held early in the fall semester.
Position Descriptions
- President

- Administer all regulations and legislation of this SGA as well as uphold the constitution.
- Make appointments [of officers] as needed.
- Create committees.
- Serve as a voting member of the Collegewide Student Activities Committee.
- Serve on college committees.
- Participate in conferences and special meetings.
- Call and preside at all meetings.
- Vice President

- Shall assume the duties of the President in his or her absence, resignation or removal of office.
- Be responsible for the proper functioning of committees.
- Oversee all senators and their duties.
- Serve as a voting member of the Collegewide Student Activities Committee.
- Serve on college committees.
- Participate in conferences and special meetings.

- Secretary

- Serves as the recording secretary and will maintain a record and complete account of meeting proceedings.
- Maintain a current copy of the constitution and by-laws.
- Make records available upon request.
- Conduct roll call and facilitate club reports at regular and special meetings.
- Participate in conferences and special meetings.

- Be responsible for the proper management of the budgets of the SGA.
- Open all books and records to the President, or anyone authorized by the President.
- Present a written Treasurer’s report at each regular meeting.

- Promote SGA to the general student body.
- Represent opinions and desires of students not in clubs and organizations.
- Survey the students and compile data collected.
- Recruit new members to SGA.
- Assist with events and activities of SGA and Student Activities.
