Peer mentors are committed to student retention and success. They foster growth and empower students to take advantage of the support systems available at PHSC while providing a casual, social platform for open communication.

This dynamic group of students is friendly, approachable and provides a positive presence on campus. Peer mentors serve as a vital link between the college and the questions, concerns and feedback of its students.

Becoming a Peer Mentor

Following application to the Peer Mentor program, chosen representatives will learn about the College and receive training. Mentors also receive a PHSC polo shirt embroidered with the peer mentor logo. All mentors will receive an hourly wage.

Students with a 3.0 or higher PHSC grade point average (GPA) who have also completed between 12 and 24 credits, qualify to apply for the program. In addition to the academic qualifications, peer mentors are required to maintain a 3.0 or higher GPA and enroll in a minimum of six credit hours in fall (term I) and spring (term II) for the academic year.
